The miniboostpro is great but this is even better – if you run a lithium battery this is the DCDC charger you should be using – lithium batteries allow a much faster charge rate and this 40amp unit will ensure your batteries keep charged.
BMPRO Pro Boost 40 a DC-DC battery charger that allows you to properly charge a secondary battery using solar panels and/or a towing vehicle’s 12V electrical system.
The Pro Boost 40 blends both the solar and auxiliary inputs, up to a maximum of 40A, fully charging your battery in the most efficient way.
Suitable for lead-acid and lithium LiFePO4 batteries.
The ProBoost40 has an ultra-thin design, making it suitable for installation in small spaces, and is resistant to vibration, as well as wet, dusty or muddy environments.
A range of protective features built into the ProBoost40, such as over temperature, over voltage and under voltage protection, will guard your charging capacity.

A DC-DC charger is better for charging a battery because it can efficiently convert a higher or lower DC voltage to the voltage level required by the battery. DC-DC chargers can step down the voltage from a higher voltage source (such as a solar panel or a vehicle alternator) to the lower voltage needed by the battery, or step up the voltage from a lower voltage source to the required battery voltage.
Compared to traditional linear chargers, DC-DC chargers are more efficient, which means they waste less power and generate less heat during the charging process. This also means that they can charge a battery more quickly and safely, without risking damage to the battery due to overcharging or overheating.
Moreover, DC-DC chargers typically have additional features such as overvoltage protection, short circuit protection, and thermal protection, which make them safer and more reliable than traditional chargers.
